Welcome to the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division (1st CEB, 1st MARDIV MCC 121). On behalf of our Marines and sailors, I would like to take this opportunity to extend a cordial "welcome aboard". We are looking forward to your arrival and the opportunity to welcome you personally.
As an integral member of the 1st Marine Division, 1st CEB is charged with sustaining the mobility of the 1st Marine Division, while providing close combat support. That mission provides an outstanding opportunity for everyone to experience and accomplish many challenges. No matter what your assignment, I think you will find it exciting and professionally rewarding.

Upon your arrival, and if you request one, you will meet your sponsor who will get you situated in your new unit. After you have arrived on Camp Pendleton, you must check in to the Joint Reception Center (JRC), bldg 130132, and 1st Marine Division G-1, bldg 1133 to get your command endorsement. The command endorsement will ensure your pay and entitlements are started in a timely manner.
All marines are required to have in their possession all uniforms and accouterments. The uniform of the day is camouflage utilities (Marine Corps combat utility uniform).
Should your family need to send notification of an emergency to you, they can do so by contacting the American Red Cross. Also, important messages can be relayed via the battalion officer of the day by dialing ((760)725-7775, DSN 365, fax (760)725-7811).
If you should need help or advice during the relocation process, contact your sponsor or the nearest personal service center. Welcome to Marine Corps Base Camp Joseph H. Pendleton, the nation's busiest military base.
Located 38 miles north of Downtown San Diego, Camp Pendleton covers over 250,000 acres and approximately 200 square miles of terrain. The stretch of shoreline along the base-- 17˝ miles -- is the largest undeveloped portion of coastal area left in southern California.
Camp Pendleton provides training facilities for many active-duty and reserve Marines, Army and Navy units, as well as national, state and local agencies. Over 60,000 military and civilian personnel work aboard the base every day.
The base is the home of I Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Marine Division, 1st Force Service Support Group and many tenant units, including elements of Marine Aircraft Group 39 and Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA).
Pendleton Marines are environmentally conscientious as they share the land with nearly 400 species of mammals and birds. The protection of several endangered species is carefully considered when planning for training.
A wide variety of recreational facilities and activities are available on base. Combine these with the unlimited number of local points of interest, to make your tour here a pleasant and memorable one.
